Kayaking Southern California’s Channel Islands

SeaBass Charters Kayak Experience

  • Novice and Experienced Paddlers Welcome
  • Perfect for Families and Groups
  • Ideal for Business Meetings and Team-Building

Our Kayak Experience to Southern California's Catalina and surrounding Channel Islands puts you onto “the other” three-fourths of the planet. The water around historic islands is filled with natural wonders that few dream of, not to mention experience. There are magnificent remote tide pools, caves, grottos and hidden beaches. You will glide over giant kelp forests teeming with bright orange garibaldi and other fish that make these forests their home. You may even encounter giant black sea bass, playful sea lions, or spiny lobsters. All of these Southern California island wonders are made accessible from the San Pedro based M/V MAGICIAN and then onto the ocean-stable Malibu II XL Ocean Kayaks supplied by SEABASS CHARTERS KAYAK EXPERIENCE.

We Supply…an exciting trip to the Channel Islands aboard the M/V MAGICIAN, a sleek-hulled, 65 foot passenger/sport ocean going vessel certified by the U.S. Coast Guard. In addition our clients can expect breakfast and lunch prepared by our on-board chef. Snacks, water, juices and soft drinks are supplied throughout the Experience. Once at the Islands we supply our guests with the Malibu II XL Ocean Kayak and all needed safety equipment.

What to Bring...to be comfortable! Shoes that don’t mind getting wet; flip-flops are not recommended. Bring a jacket, swimsuit, towels, sunscreen, hat, and a change of clothes. Don’t forget your camera, and bring binoculars if you have them. They make the whales and dolphins easier for you to see.

Expectations...you can expect a one-and-a-half to two-hour crossing to and from the nearest of the Channel Islands, Catalina Island. The other islands take slightly more time. Once at the chosen island we have from two to four-hours of easy kayaking among remote tide pools, caves, grottos, and hidden beaches.

Physical Requirements...all who choose to go Kayaking should be comfortable in, and around, water and enjoy moderately demanding exercise. Those with bad backs, or those who are pregnant should not consider getting off of the MAGICIAN and onto the Kayaks.
